Key takeaways
- QNT is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum. You buy it on a centralised exchange, on a Uniswap pool, or indirectly through a Swedish-listed ETP.
- The cheapest route is almost always a bank transfer followed by a spot limit order. Card purchases can cost 3% to 5% before you own anything.
- Most QNT liquidity sits on Binance, Coinbase and Kraken; smaller venues, including the exchange featured here, show thin QNT order books.
- Withdrawing to a wallet you control means choosing the Ethereum (ERC-20) network and keeping a little ETH for gas.
Before you start: what you are actually buying
Quant (QNT) is the utility token of Quant Network, a London company that sells Overledger, an API layer banks use to connect their systems to multiple ledgers. The token is not a blockchain of its own: it is a standard ERC-20 contract on Ethereum with a fixed total supply of 14,612,493 QNT and 18 decimals. That single fact shapes the whole buying process. You will trade it on exchanges like any other large-cap coin, but when you move it, you move it on Ethereum and pay gas in ETH. If the technology side is new to you, start with what Quant is and the tokenomics page, then come back.
Two name clashes trip up buyers every week. "Gen Z Quant" is a Solana meme coin created on Pump.fun in November 2024 by a child who livestreamed selling it; it has nothing to do with Quant Network. And "QNT" on Nasdaq is Quantinuum, a quantum-computing company that went public in June 2026 at $60 a share. When you type "quant" into an exchange search bar, confirm the ticker is QNT and the network is Ethereum before you click buy.
How to buy Quant coin in six steps
The process below works on any regulated exchange. The fee figures quoted are the published ones for the exchange featured on this site; other venues differ, and the exchange page lists what we could verify for each.
- 1
Choose a regulated exchange that lists QNT
QNT trades on dozens of venues, but the short list for most people is an exchange that answers to a regulator in your country, supports your currency and has an order book for QNT. The exchange featured on this site has operated since 2013, holds a FinCEN Money Services Business registration in the United States, more than 30 US state money-transmitter licences, and a UK registration as a cryptoasset business under the Money Laundering Regulations (CEX.IO Markets UK Limited, FRN 1007192). It quotes QNT against USD, USDT, USDC and EUR, with USD and USDT pairs available to US customers.
If you live in the EU, Türkiye or elsewhere, the exchange comparison lists alternatives with local payment rails. Whichever venue you pick, check that the asset page shows Quant (QNT) on the Ethereum network and not a similarly named meme coin.
- 2
Verify your identity (KYC)
Every regulated exchange will ask for a government ID, a selfie or liveness check and, for higher limits, a proof of address. This is not optional: anti-money-laundering rules in the US, UK and EU require it before fiat deposits are accepted. Expect automated approval within minutes for a clean passport scan, or a manual review of a day or two if the document is blurred or your name is spelled differently on your bank account.
New customers on the featured exchange start with limits of $1,000 per day and $3,000 per month for the first three months, so plan larger purchases in tranches or upgrade your verification tier early.
- 3
Deposit funds: card, SEPA, bank wire or ACH
Cards are instant but the most expensive rail: the featured exchange states Instant Buy card purchases cost about 2.99% all-in on its marketing pages, while its education pages quote a 0.49% to 4.99% range plus a service charge depending on card and region. SWIFT wires are listed at 0.3% plus $25 with a $50 minimum. SEPA for euro accounts and ACH for US bank accounts are the cheapest ways in on most venues, but they settle in one to three business days.
Deposit the fiat first and buy once it lands. Buying on a card during a volatile hour means paying the card fee and the spread at the same time, which can add up to more than 4% before you own a single token.
- 4
Place your order: market vs limit
A market order fills immediately at the best available price. On a deep book like Binance or Coinbase (each around $5.8 million of daily QNT volume at the time of research) the slippage on a few hundred dollars is negligible. On a thin book, such as the featured exchange's QNT pairs, which showed only a few hundred dollars of daily volume, a market order can walk through several price levels. A limit order lets you set the price you are willing to pay; it may not fill, but it never fills worse.
Fees are charged per trade: the featured exchange advertises maker fees starting at 0.16% and taker fees at 0.25%, falling with 30-day volume. Spot trading is almost always cheaper than the Instant Buy button, which bundles the spread into a single headline percentage.
- 5
Withdraw to self-custody (ERC-20 on Ethereum)
QNT is an ERC-20 token at contract address
0x4a220E6096B25EADb88358cb44068A3248254675with 18 decimals. There is no official Quant chain to send it to: it lives on Ethereum mainnet. When you withdraw, the exchange will ask for an Ethereum address and, sometimes, a network selector. Choose Ethereum (ERC-20) and nothing else. Paste the address, send a small test amount first, then the rest.Once the tokens are in your wallet, every future transfer costs gas paid in ETH, not QNT. Keep a few dollars of ETH alongside your QNT or the tokens will be stuck until you top up. Our wallet guide covers Ledger, MetaMask, Trust Wallet and the trade-offs of leaving coins on the exchange.
- 6
Record the purchase and secure the account
Download the trade confirmation and keep a note of the date, the fiat amount, the fee and the number of QNT. Tax authorities in most countries treat each disposal as a taxable event, and the cost basis you record today is what you will need years from now. Turn on two-factor authentication with an authenticator app rather than SMS, add a withdrawal address whitelist if the exchange offers one, and never share screenshots of your balances.
Where else to buy Quant coin
At the time of research CoinGecko tracked 87 QNT markets. The volume, however, is concentrated: Binance's QNT/USDT pair and Coinbase's QNT/USD pair each handled roughly $5.8 million a day, Kraken's QNT/USD about $2.5 million, and Bybit, Bitvavo and Bitget between $1 million and $1.6 million. Everything below that is a long tail of regional venues where a large order will move the price.
For US residents the practical choices are Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini, Crypto.com, Binance.US and the featured exchange, which lists QNT-USD and QNT-USDT for US customers under its state licences. For Europeans, Kraken, Bitstamp, Bitvavo, Bitpanda, BISON and Coinmerce all quote QNT in euros. For Turkish lira there are BtcTurk and Paribu. We rank and compare all of them, with fiat rails and regulatory notes, on the QNT exchanges page, and we flag which big names do not list the token.
Buying QNT with EUR, GBP or TRY
Euro
Euro buyers have the easiest time. Kraken and Bitstamp run QNT/EUR order books, Bitvavo's QNT/EUR pair alone did about $1.5 million a day, and the featured exchange quotes a QNT-EUR pair as well. Broker-style apps such as Bitpanda and BISON sell QNT at a quoted price with the spread built in (around 1.49% and 0.75% respectively according to third-party reviews we could not verify on the vendors' pages). SEPA transfers are typically free or close to it. Note that since 1 July 2026 any exchange serving EU customers must hold a MiCA licence, so check the ESMA register if you are unsure about a venue.
Pound sterling
We found no verified GBP order book for QNT. UK buyers typically fund an account in pounds via Faster Payments (Coinbase and Bitstamp advertise it) and then trade the USD or EUR pair, or use the featured exchange's UK entity. Two UK rules matter: since October 2023, crypto marketing to UK consumers must carry risk warnings, and first-time investors get a 24-hour cooling-off period before their first purchase. If an exchange asks you to wait a day, that is the regulation, not a glitch.
Turkish lira
BtcTurk's QNT/TRY pair was live at the time of research (last trade just over 10,000 TRY) and Paribu also lists QNT/TRY. Binance TR does not list QNT at all, which surprises many Turkish buyers. Crypto platforms serving Turkish residents now fall under the Capital Markets Board (SPK) regime, so stick to venues on the SPK's "in operation" list.
The DEX route: buying QNT on Uniswap
If you already hold ETH or USDC in a self-custody wallet, you can skip exchanges entirely and swap on Ethereum. GeckoTerminal data showed a Uniswap V4 QNT/USDC pool with a 0.3% fee tier holding about $1.13 million of liquidity and turning over $301,000 a day, a Uniswap V3 QNT/WETH pool with $776,000, and smaller pools on Balancer and the older Uniswap V2. Total DEX depth was roughly $2.3 million, which is tiny next to $40 million-plus of daily centralised volume.
The upside is no KYC, no withdrawal step and immediate self-custody. The downside is cost and risk: you pay the 0.3% pool fee, Ethereum gas (which fluctuates), and slippage that grows quickly on orders above a few thousand dollars. Always paste the official contract address rather than searching by name, because fake "QNT" tokens exist on every DEX. You can verify any transfer afterwards on our transaction tracker.
The ETP route: QNT in a brokerage account
Some investors prefer not to hold crypto directly. In Europe there is exactly one listed product we could confirm: Valour Quant (QNT) SEK, ISIN CH1108681706, issued by Valour Inc and listed on Sweden's Spotlight Stock Market on 24 September 2025. It charges a 1.9% annual management fee and is available through Nordic brokers including Avanza, Nordnet, Montrose and SAVR. You get price exposure inside a regular securities account, with no wallets or gas, but you pay a yearly fee, trade only in Swedish market hours and own a note issued by a company rather than the token itself. No QNT ETP from 21Shares, VanEck or CoinShares, and nothing on SIX, Xetra or Euronext, was found.
What buying QNT actually costs
Headline trading fees get the attention, but the deposit rail and the spread usually cost more. The table below puts the published numbers side by side. Where a venue does not publish a figure, or we could only find it on a third-party site, we say so.
| Route | Typical cost | Speed | Custody | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Card Instant Buy | About 2.99% all-in (marketing page) up to 4.99% plus service charge (education page) | Seconds | Exchange | Small first purchases |
| Bank transfer + spot order | SWIFT 0.3% + $25 (min $50); SEPA/ACH often free; trading 0.16% maker / 0.25% taker and down | 1 to 3 business days to fund, then instant | Exchange, then yours | Most buyers |
| Uniswap swap | 0.3% pool fee + ETH gas + slippage | One block (about 12 seconds) | Yours from the start | Existing self-custody users |
| Broker app (Bitpanda, BISON) | Spread of roughly 0.75% to 1.49% (third-party figures, unverified) | Instant after funding | Broker | Convenience in the EU |
| Valour QNT ETP | 1.9% per year + broker commission | Swedish market hours | Securities account | Investors who cannot hold crypto |
A worked example: $1,000 bought on a card at 2.99% leaves you with about $970 of QNT. The same $1,000 sent by SEPA and bought with a 0.25% taker order leaves $997.50. Over a few purchases the difference pays for a hardware wallet.
Common mistakes when buying Quant
- Buying the wrong "Quant". The Solana meme coin and the Nasdaq-listed quantum company both share the name. Check for ticker QNT on Ethereum, contract 0x4a22…4675.
- Withdrawing on the wrong network. QNT exists only on Ethereum. Selecting BNB Chain, Polygon or any other network at withdrawal can lose the tokens permanently.
- Forgetting gas. A wallet with 10 QNT and zero ETH cannot move the QNT. Keep a small ETH balance.
- Market orders on thin books. The featured exchange's QNT pairs showed only a few hundred dollars of daily volume at the time of research. Use limit orders on small venues.
- Clicking "claim rewards" links. Sites such as claims-quant.network and nft-quant.com imitate Quant and drain wallets. Quant has never run an airdrop. See is Quant legit? for the full list of known scams.
- Chasing a spike. QNT went from a daily close near $61 on 17 September 2026 to over $286 on 28 September, around The Clearing House announcement, and then fell back below $180 by late October. Announcement-driven moves are volatility, not validation.
A word on taxes
In the US, UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Türkiye, buying crypto with fiat is not itself taxed, but selling, swapping one token for another or spending it usually is, and the gain is measured against the cost basis you record at purchase. Rules on holding periods, allowances, loss offsets and reporting differ widely from country to country and change often. Keep every trade confirmation, note the fiat value at the time of each transaction, and speak to a local tax adviser before you sell. We will link country-specific notes from the German, Dutch and Turkish versions of this guide as they are published.
Information only. Not financial advice. Fees, limits and listings change; verify them on the exchange before you trade.
Frequently asked questions
How do I buy Quant coin with a credit or debit card?
Open an account on an exchange that lists QNT, complete identity verification, then use the card or Instant Buy option. Card purchases are the fastest route but also the most expensive: the featured exchange quotes about 2.99% all-in on its marketing pages and a 0.49% to 4.99% range plus service charge on its education pages. For anything above a few hundred dollars, a bank transfer followed by a spot order is usually cheaper.
Where is the cheapest place to buy QNT?
Deep order books with low maker/taker fees are the cheapest overall. Binance (0.1% base, not independently verified here), Kraken and Coinbase carry the most QNT volume. The featured exchange advertises maker fees from 0.16% and taker fees from 0.25%. Add the deposit cost of your payment rail, which often matters more than the trading fee itself. See the full exchange comparison.
Can I buy QNT on a decentralised exchange?
Yes. The largest pool at the time of research was Uniswap V4 QNT/USDC (0.3% fee) with about $1.13 million of liquidity, followed by a Uniswap V3 QNT/WETH pool with roughly $776,000. You need ETH for gas, a non-custodial wallet and care with slippage; total DEX depth is only around $2.3 million against more than $40 million of daily centralised volume.
Is there a Quant ETF or ETP I can buy through a broker?
In Europe there is one exchange-traded product: Valour Quant (QNT) SEK, ISIN CH1108681706, listed on Sweden's Spotlight Stock Market since September 2025 with a 1.9% management fee. It is available through brokers such as Avanza, Nordnet, Montrose and SAVR. No QNT product from 21Shares, VanEck or CoinShares, and none on SIX, Xetra or Euronext, was found at the time of research.
What is the minimum amount of QNT I can buy?
You do not need to buy a whole token. QNT has 18 decimals, and exchanges let you buy fractions, typically from $5 to $20 worth depending on the venue's minimum order size. New customers on the featured exchange are limited to $1,000 per day and $3,000 per month for the first three months.
Is buying Quant the same as buying QNT stock?
No. The Nasdaq ticker QNT belongs to Quantinuum, a quantum-computing company that listed in June 2026. Quant Network Ltd, the company behind the token, is private and has no shares you can buy. Our QNT stock vs token page explains the confusion.
